About this blog

I am a Lecturer in Modern British History at Goldsmiths, University of London. I teach across a wide range of topics and my research interests include civilian heroism, social and protest movements, walking and pedestrianism, and metropolitan and urban history.  Find out more here.

The purpose of this blog is to provide a platform for discussing and sharing my knowledge and experience in Learning and Teaching in UK Higher Education. As a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, I am committed to developing and championing Learning and Teaching as well as providing ideas, advice and guidance on improvement and innovation. I am also a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and Chairman of the Friends of the Watts Memorial.

I’m keen to encourage discussion and debate about the issues I raise on this blog and  I keenly welcome constructive comments, suggestions, ideas and advice.
